Our mission is simple:
We help pastors reclaim their health for the Kingdom.
We do this by providing professional coaching and resources. Through our coaching solutions, our goal is to equip the local church & its leaders to get physically healthy so they can have the energy, confidence, credibility, and longevity to fulfill their God-given mission.
Fit Pastors Academy 1.0 is the best place to start. It’s a program to get you physically healthy with professional coaching, done for you resources, and real life examples. It’s delivered in twelve modules of coaching.
THE MOST IMPORTANT VEHICLE
Would you agree that most of us take better care of our vehicles than our bodies? You can’t claim that you care about your vehicle if you don’t see that it is getting the proper maintenance right? So we can’t claim we care about our bodies if we aren’t doing the same. Remember when it comes to loving God holistically it’s most important to love Him with our spirit and then our soul. We just don’t need to forget that the body’s role is to be the vehicle which transports our spirit and soul. If it breaks down, well, everything breaks down.
THE FOUR TIRES TO KEEP YOUR VEHICLE ON THE ROAD OF HEALTH
Becoming physically fit is not a matter of improving your appearance, but your overall health and longevity. How long do you want to be around to fulfill your God-given mission? What energy level do you want to have as you pursue it? People with a significant amount of excess body fat are at increased risk of developing potentially serious health conditions like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke and certain forms of cancer. The question is, “Where do you start?”. Keeping with the metaphor of a vehicle and keeping it simple just think these four words or tires: LIFT, MOVE, FUEL, REST.
Lets look at the simple four tires that can benefit the body:
Weight lifting helps promote lean muscle mass, which allows you to burn calories more efficiently. Weight-resistance exercises also help you manage your weight, maintain join flexibility, improve bone density, and prevent injury. It is recommended that you do single sets of 12 to 15 repetitions on various weight resistance machines and use free weights, but give yourself an adequate amount of time to rest between sessions.
Cardio exercise activates major muscle groups and elevates your heart rate to a level that supports maximum calorie and fat burning. Health and fitness professionals recommend at least 30 minutes of sustained cardio exercise each day to promote fat burning and help keep fat off. Just as you exercise your faith you need to exercise your body.
Your diet plays a monumental role on your ability to burn fat and increase your muscle mass. If you’re like me you’re constantly on the go a lot and you get invited to a lot of lunches, dinners, and coffees. You get baked cookies, pies, and more. There’s no excuses… you would never stop reading the Bible and just read books about the Bible would you? It’s the same thing when it comes to food…. You need to eat real food…. Healthy food.
Do you regularly ease up on the gas & exit off the ramp? The quality and duration of your nightly sleep determines the quality and duration of your life. It seems crazy, but one third of our lives are spent sleeping. But those hours are far from unproductive. During sleep, our bodies repair… Getting six to eight hours of sleep per night can put you in a positive mood and make you feel refreshed in the morning. A good night’s sleep can also help you concentrate better throughout the day.
